Elisa Davis: Intro to Back 2 Viz Basics

Elisa Davis

Elisa Davis became a Lead BI Analyst at Discover in August 2022, and still can’t quite believe she gets paid to viz all day.

Elisa began her Tableau career as a fundraising analyst at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018. With Desktop I and II under her belt, she undertook an overhaul of fundraiser reporting. She began posting to Tableau Public and Twitter in September 2021. Her life hasn’t been the same since!

Elisa is delighted to have been selected as a Tableau Public Ambassador. She loves giving back to the community via her Advancement (Fundraising) Tableau User Group and Back 2 Viz Basics (#B2VB) leadership roles, and looks forward to this opportunity to welcome and lift up new talent.

What is Back 2 Viz Basics? Who is it for? How can you get involved? Elisa Davis co-leads this Tableau community project and will answer all these questions and more. She'll also give a sneak peek at the upcoming collab challenge with #ProjectHealthViz.

Ethan Lang: The Analytics Pane

Ethan Lang

Ethan leads a team of world class Tableau engineers as Director of Analytics Engineering at Playfair Data. He is an Army veteran and advocates for veterans by telling their stories through data. Ethan has a very strong technical background backed up by his Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics from the University of Kansas and his Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He has been the technical reviewer for several published books, author of three Tableau Viz of the Days, and avid blogger where he shares tactics and strategies about Tableau. Ethan is the co-lead of the Veterans Advocacy Tableau User Group, a member of Tableau’s Speaker Bureau, and is a Tableau Ambassador. When not creating world class dashboards you can find Ethan spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking, or enjoying the outdoors.

Ethan’s presentation will cover Tableau’s Analytics Pane and how you can implement statistical analyses in your Tableau dashboards.
